Email Address: Snyder@usd350.com About this Exploration: The library was a gift from Mrs. Ida Long Goodman, a former teacher, principal, and Stafford County superintendent.
A complete community learning and cultural center has been developed through the cooperation of the City Library Board, the USD 350 Board of Education, faculty, and students, and patrons of the community. The library is owned and operated by the St. John-Hudson School District No. 350. The St. John City Library Board and the USD 350 School Board jointly govern the library. Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library was the first school/community library in Kansas and is a member of the South Central Kansas Library System. Along with a superlative nonfiction and reference collection and all the latest fiction, the library also houses county newspapers back to 1879, genealogical records, local and Kansas books and authors, an art collection, sheet music, large print books and provides public Internet access. The library is open: Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday 2 p.m.-5 p.m. |
