The west bound side of the marker (shown here) shows the miles to Denver and the east bound side shows the miles to Kansas City. In the early 1900's this arrow (we think) would have directed travelers back to U.S. 40 from U.S. 83 as they drove through downtown. The actual history of this marker and its purpose is yet unknown.
