No chickens running at large!

About this Exploration:

While enjoying the history of Lebo, it is great to be able to look at some of the old city ordinances that were at one time passed because of a problem. But today, these ordinances are interesting to look at and are more amusing since there is no longer the same issue. Most of these types of ordinances have not been repealed and are still ordinances.

Here's the case of the "No Chickens Running at Large" ordinance.  At one time chickens were actually a problem in Lebo because they would get into citizen's gardens, etc. So, the City of Lebo passed an ordinance to fine the owners of the chickens that were running at large, by making them pay a fine between $1 to $5, and the cost of prosecution.

There were a few ordinances prior to this ordinance that pertained to the chickens at large, and they were all repealed.

This ordinance (Ordinance No. 92) has not been repealed.
