About this Exploration:



Established in 1869, this Catholic cemetery is the final resting place of three Medal of Honor recipients: Thomas Kelly 1836-1919, Patrick Thomas Leonard 1828-1905, and Robert McPhelan 1837-1884.  All three men came from Ireland and all three earned the award for their actions during the American Indian Wars.  To find their graves visit the cemetery office Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for a map.  Kelly is buried in Section 2 Lot 4 north 1/2 of 67.  Leonard is buried in Section 2 Lot 10 north 1/2 of 77.  McPhelan is buried in the Singles Section formerly known as the Welfare Section.  Graves in this section are arranged by burial date.
