Event Description:

Who knew an ear of corn or fresh tomato could improve your health, your community and the environment, all at the same time?  Buying locally grown foods is a simple way to do all three. Local food doesn't suffer the "jet lag" of produce trucked across the country. It puts more money back into Iola's economy and saves a whole lot of gas.
Allen County Farm Bureau holds an information-filled workshop in Iola to share more about ways to grow produce or craft businesses designed to help expand local markets. All participants benefited from the general sessions in the morning, enjoyed a delicious lunch of locally-produced foods, and split up to follow either the vendor or organizer track in the afternoon. This workshop was held in preparation to the annual Farmer's Market that is held on the east side of the downtown square from May to October.
Come join the fun on Thursday evenings from 5 - 7 p.m.  Local area growers and crafters fill the east side of the square on Jefferson Avenue.  All items are home made or home grown.  It is a treat you won't want to miss - and what a perfect way to start the evening knowing the Iola Community Band Concert will be from June to July and will be providing splendid marches and sousa music at the bandstand from 8 p.m- 9p.m. until August.!

Right now, they have huge pumpkins for sale. Go see for yourselves.
