A huge celebration of the 140th year since the construction of Dr. Brewster Higley's cabin on West Beaver Creek in Smith County.  Dr. Higley had written the poem that became the Kansas State Song "Home on the Range".   The cabin will start a new renovation that will return the home to it's orginal look from homesteader days in the 1870's.  Many events and entertainment will be happening today.   Some of the dignataries for the day will be Miss Kansas, Senator Jerry Moran, and Michael Martin Murphey.  Come join us and make this an event to remember for the next 140 years.
